Sometimes a project is more than just pixels and code. It’s a reminder of why we do what we do.
A few months ago, an old high school friend reached out to us with a special request. He was working with a new nonprofit forming in Omaha called the Omaha Regional Executive Latino Alliance (OREL) — a group stepping up to support Ukrainian families fleeing war and seeking refuge in Nebraska.
They needed a website — not just to inform, but to inspire action. A place where families could find help.Where neighbors could volunteer or donate.Where compassion could turn into community.
Today, we’re proud to announce the launch of www.orelalliance.org — a website built with heart, purpose, and urgency.
The Mission Behind the Site
OREL Alliance is a coalition of leaders uniting to welcome and assist Ukrainian refugees in Omaha. Their support programs offer:
Transportation to jobs, school, and medical care
Employment resources to help families rebuild financially
Housing assistance to find safe and affordable homes
Children’s programming to help young ones adjust, learn, and thrive
These are real needs. And OREL is meeting them with real solutions.
How We Brought It to Life
At Headturn, we specialize in branding, creative, and web services for organizations making a difference. But this project hit close to home — not only because of our personal connection to the team, but because the mission itself aligns so closely with our values: using creativity to empower people and uplift communities.
We approached the project with care and urgency — designing a site that’s clear, bilingual, mobile-first, and donation-ready. Every piece of content, every button, every image was created to help OREL reach more families and mobilize more support.
Why This Matters
In times of crisis, community is everything. And the story of OREL is the story of people coming together — across cultures and backgrounds — to welcome strangers with open arms and open hearts.
That’s the kind of story we want to help tell.
To the team at OREL: thank you for letting us be part of your mission. To our community: please visit the site, share the message, and consider how you can help.

This is what good design can do. And this is why we turn heads — not just with our work, but with our hearts.
