The Hispanic Alliance for Career Enhancement (HACE) is a Chicago-founded, national nonprofit established in 1982 that propels Latino/a/x and other under-represented professionals “from high school to the board room.” Today its community exceeds 105,000 members and corporate allies across the United States, with flagship initiatives such as Mujeres de HACE, HACE Más, and the National Leadership Summit giving rising talent the skills, mentorship, and visibility they need to close persistent representation gaps.

Ahead of its 2022 National Leadership Summit—two hybrid days in Chicago built around the theme “HACE Mas”—HACE recognized that years of organic growth had produced a patchwork brand experience: each program looked and sounded different, making it hard for first-time attendees, alumni, sponsors, and the media to see one cohesive story. The organization invited Headturn Creative to serve as its creative-strategy arm—realigning visual identity, sharpening key messages, and translating data-rich content into an engaging, multiplatform narrative that would spark pride inside the ballroom and travel far beyond it.

What We Did

  • Brand diagnosis & positioning – Facilitated workshops with executives, program leads, and alumni to define HACE’s core promise, tone of voice, and audience personas; built a messaging hierarchy and tagline playbook to guide all communications.
     

  • Modular visual identity system – Crafted a flexible palette of vivid color blocks, Latin-textile-inspired patterns, and an icon suite that lets individual programs keep their flavor while unmistakably belonging to the HACE family.
     

  • Event branding package – Designed stage backdrops, screen graphics, way-finding signage, registration kiosks, and delegate collateral for the Summit at Willis Tower, delivering assets in both print and virtual-event formats to future-proof the investment.
     

  • Video storytelling – Scripted, shot, and edited a 90-second Summit opener film, a three-minute recap video, and social-ready cut-downs (15- and 30-second) featuring bilingual captions, motion-graphic infographics, and on-site interviews.
     

  • Content-creation toolkit – Supplied editable Canva and Adobe templates for social posts, email headers, and presentation decks, empowering HACE’s lean communications staff to maintain brand consistency year-round.
     

  • Promotional products & partner support – Sourced eco-friendly notebooks, enamel pins, and conference swag adorned with the refreshed visuals, generating incremental fundraising revenue and extending brand reach long after the event.
